“We are happy to inform you of another sponsorship which has been confirmed by the Adani Group at the IOA for the Olympics since our last update on July 16. The Adani Group has confirmed to us a good sponsorship association and a support for the future as well, “IOA Secretary General Rajeev Mehta said in an official statement.
Previously, the IOA announced that SFA Pvt Ltd had joined one of its sponsors for the flagship event.
“We are happy to inform you of another sponsorship which is confirmed by SFA Pvt Ltd to IOA since our last update on July 14,” said Rajeev Mehta, General Secretary of IOA. “The SFA has confirmed to us the sponsorship of Rs 1 crore,” he added.
The IOA had previously entered into sponsorship agreements with the MPL Sports Foundation as a “main sponsor” covering the Tokyo Olympics, the 2022 Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games.
The IOA then confirmed the global nutrition company Herbalife as one of its sponsors.
According to the IOA, MPL will pay a total of Rs. 8 crore to IOA and in addition to this sports kit for the 2022 Asian Games and the Commonwealth Games, the Indian contingent will also be provided by them.
In June, JSW Group was also hired as a sponsor of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. In a statement released by IOA Chief Narinder Batra and Secretary Rajeev Mehta, the IOA said that Parth Jindal, CEO of JSW, had confirmed the sponsorship of Rs 1 crore to the governing body.
In addition, Amul had also offered to support the IOA for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Amul’s sponsorship is Rs 1 crore for a period until December 31, 2021.
