St. Anthony’s will hold a rummage sale this weekend
The Saint-Antoine de Padoue Catholic Church organizes its annual sale from Thursday to Saturday.
The event is hosted by the Catholic Women’s Council at the church and will be open June 23-24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On June 25, there will be a $5 bag sale from 9 a.m. to noon.
The parish hall is at 11 N. Howell St.
Sarah Stewart, the council chair, said there will be many different household items and clothing available for sale, all donated by parish members.
“There will be everything from children’s items, household items, small appliances, summer items, even golf clubs, bicycles, camping gear, jewelry, just a lot of stuff,” Stewart said.
Lunch will be prepared by Jilly Beans and the sale has also partnered with Market House, Inc. to borrow shopping carts and baskets.
Stewart said that with the current economic situation, the sale is the ideal place to make the necessary purchases at a lower cost.
“With the prices of everything escalating, it will be a really good place to shop because a lot of things are only $1, $2 or $3,” she said.
Baggers and delivery helpers will be available to assist shoppers and even deliver items to vehicles.
Stewart said the council expects hundreds of people to stop and do their shopping.
“It’s a huge sale every year where people can stock their kitchen or even back-to-school clothes for their kids,” Stewart said.
The proceeds from the sale are used to help with events around the church, but also with various community projects of the council such as the Family Center or a university scholarship.
Stewart said she hopes the event will be a blessing to many in the community.
