Laois Nationalist – One man’s trash is another man’s treasure – Garage sale

By Joe Barrett

A garage sale for small vans, cars and entry tables will take place on the grounds of the Solas Eco Garden Center in Portarlington.

The aim of the event is to help people reduce unnecessary waste and give new life to old items.

The recent clothing swap event at Solas was such a success that it was felt that a car boot sale was the obvious next step and offered people the opportunity to rummage through their guest rooms, their attics, gardens or garages. or unloved objects and find them a new home.

The next garage sale, which will take place on Sunday September 18 from 9:30 am, will allow people who understand the importance of recycling, up-cycling, reduction to help them reduce the amount of unnecessary waste put in landfill.

Items accepted for sale include new, antique, used merchandise, clothing, shoes, jewelry, home furnishings, toys, children’s clothing, seasonal items, CDs, books and bric-a-brac.

There is a supplement of €15 per car/small van. Exhibitors are requested to bring their own tables.

A €2 entry fee will be charged to the public, with money from the gate going to the Fight For Johnny’s Girl campaign, GoFundMe.

Restrooms and refreshments will be available on site.
