Hundreds of pottery bowls on sale at Urban Art Co-op’s Scoops and Bowls fundraiser

SPOKANE, Wash. “Need a new bowl of cereal?” Bowl of ice cream? A new container for jewelry?

Buy one at Scoops and Bowls this Saturday!

Throughout the year, Urban Art Co-op members and students collaborate on hundreds of bowls for an annual fundraiser: Scoops and Bowls.

This Saturday, July 9, go to the Manito Park picnic area (1702 S Grand Blvd) to enjoy a few scoops of ice cream and buy a new bowl, made by members and students of the cooperative.

It all runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with around 1,700 bowls to choose from, ranging from $15 to $40 per bowl.

Urban Art Co-op is a group of creative people who prefer to practice the art of pottery in community.

The cooperative is run by volunteers and is non-profit. UAC is a shared studio space for professional artists, beginners and everyone in between.

The next supports the growth and enhancement of studio space on N Monroe St.

UAC hopes to construct or purchase a new building to be the permanent home of its community.

They would like to provide more workspace for more artists, a gallery to display members’ work, and more teaching space.
