Atmosphere created by Don Rock

In the space of just eight years, DJ Don Roc has

has established itself as one of the most

innovative music curators.

Don’s love for music began during his childhood in St. Petersburg, Florida. See female icons such as Missy Elliott

dominating hip-hop motivated her to start freestyling and ghostwriting for local artists throughout her teens and into adulthood.

Don debuted at the local Cycle Lounge on January 1,

2014. Shortly after playing her first set, Don was sought out for various gigs, one of which didn’t include a DJ at all. Instead, the thriving music mixer was called in to interview platinum-selling Southern hip-hop staple Lil Boosie for Burg Life Radio. This interview not only skyrocketed her career, but also showcased her versatility in entertainment.

In April 2015, she launched Slugged Sounds. Slugged Sounds releases nostalgic and authentic mixes while connecting open-minded fans and musicians around the world through digital media, music and specially curated events. Artists working with this collaborative effort include the mastermind himself, Jerry Nova, BTMVLE Jotta, Renald Bart, and SOAP Zac.

Today, Don Roc continues to be considered one of the hottest female DJs in the game, mixing on radio stations such as 99 Jamz The Burg and earning over 500,000 streams for her slugged and chopped mixes. . In 2021, Don founded “727 Day,” a day of celebration for the city and area code that birthed her. Officially launched on July 27, it hopes to bring creators together for a series of performances and artistic experiences.
